Shared ZenRows credit budget

LADBS, Assessor, manual checks and scheduled scrapes all use this single budget.

Checking balance
3 shared parallel requests

A larger ZenRows subscription does not raise this app limit automatically. Existing account usage counts toward this cap. Each new request reserves credits before it starts; uncertain costs stay reserved. Usage is checked through ZenRows’ free account endpoint. New requests pause when the cap is reached, the provider has no remaining credits, or the saved balance is more than five minutes old. A new billing period is accepted only after ZenRows confirms it.

LADBS enrichment queue

Newly imported permits are processed through the verified ZenRows LADBS recipe. Every report is checked against its permit number and saved with the full source HTML.

Paused

Paused by default. Each successful LADBS page uses about 25 ZenRows credits. One thousand new pages would be about 25,000 credits. HTTP 200 responses reserve at least 25 credits even if ZenRows reports a zero cost header. These limits are conservative queue estimates; check ZenRows billing for actual charges. Partial or mismatched reports are never marked verified. Start with a 25-credit pilot, then increase the limits after checking its result.

Reports awaiting review

Incomplete or interrupted responses stay paused. Review the saved response before explicitly allowing another paid request. The most recent 50 paused records are shown; resolving one reveals the next.

Recent enrichment attempts

Weekly LA permit import

Checks the official City dataset each Monday at 9:00 AM Pacific, imports new eligible permits including Express, and enriches only non-Express permits when the shared budget allows.

Open city dataset ↗

City API imports are free. New records are deduplicated by permit number. Express permits are saved with enrichment deferred; other new permits enter the LADBS queue. This step does not call ZenRows.

Schedule a public page scrape

Jobs call ZenRows from this server. Scraping runs on the server using your saved ZenRows key.

Only public HTTPS pages are accepted. Scraped content is saved for review; it does not silently change the permit master.

ZenRows connection

The key is masked and saved on the VPS. The one-report test costs 25 ZenRows credits when successful and checks the complete LADBS body. It does not modify the permit master.

Private server-side storage

ReachByMail saves the API key in a restricted file on the VPS. The key is never returned to this page or written to application logs.
